Family owned and operated, based in Ashford, Kent, Spicer Tiles specialise in the production of hand made clay peg tiles and fittings.
Finding original peg tiles can be really hard as they are so sought after, and even if you do they will be expensive. That is why we, at Spicer Tiles make our own. Not only are they a good replica for the real thing, but they are not as expensive.
People will know that in the local papers there are often articles on "peg tiles stolen off roof". The police are recommending that people somehow mark their tiles to reduce the value to possible thieves. We are in the process of possibly marking our tiles with customers postcodes in the processing stage, to deter theives.
Not only can Spicer Tiles be placed on newly built houses, but can also be mixed in with old tiles on an older house.
Since our formation in 1989, we tended to concentrate on roof fittings designed to blend in quickly with clay tiles, but as the business expanded and the call for peg tiles was so great, we decided to add our own peg tile to our range of products.
Not forgetting that being a "new" tile, Spicer Tiles have a unique way of manufacturing a tile or fitting to look old, therefore can be placed with old tiles.
Employing time honoured processes, our tiles display all the hallmarks of a truly original hand made product- glowing colours with subtle variations of size and texture and even foldmarks in the clay- unique features which can only be produced by hand.
As we are a family business, we provide all of our customers with a friendly personal service.
